Tombshroom xp - 9,032.4 Sundry Potion cost - 400 beans 22.58xp/bean The current cost of tombshrooms spores, and the shrooms themselves currently are nearly break even, this may change. I am of the understanding that Tombshrooms and Sundry potions provide the best ratio of beans:xp. In order to calculate this we need to produce a beans:xp ratio. For this example I assume that you "over grow" 3 animals because you would overgrow the elder, or the 4th animal the same amount. So how much wasted time do you have to have before it makes sense to just grow your animals to elders? Remember that all of this lost time will negatively impact your experience rates. This will rarely every be the case, as you would have to be at PoF 24/7. The previous example assumes a "perfect" harvest with no overlap in time. There is one unaccounted for variable that can change the breakdown, and potentially tip the scales to producing elders. You simply have to balance which you prefer, profit or beans. It is possible to PROFIT, still receive beans, and maintain the exact same amount of experience. This example assumes you are simply beaning all of the animals as well. XP from 1 Elder = 100,000 Beans from 1 Elder = 1400Īdol cost/bean - 250 gp/bean Elder cost/bean - 357 gp/beanĪs you can see, the experience from this scenario is equivalent, however the adolescent animals provide a much better gp/bean ratio. On PoF discord you can buy baby dragons for ~500k, and you can buy adolescent dragons for ~750k.Ĥ Adol = 1 Elder XP from 4 Adol = 100,000 Beans from 4 Adol = 8000 Cost of 4 Adol = 2M Its possible I may add maths for other animals at a further date, or someone else can just make up a fancy spreadsheet from the data.:P There is a market for both baby and adolescent animals in the PoF discord. Four eggs will cost me 4 times the price for the same amount of experience though! Once again, incorrect. Because elders take four times as long to grow as adolescents they provide four times the xp, however 4 adolescents within the exact same time period provide the exact same experience. The primary misconception I want to address is that you should grow your animals to elders to "maximize xp", or that elders "give more xp". I haven't seen any market for "bulk" elder animals in the way that baby/adol have a market, hence why I have chosen to assume you just bean them. This guide doesn't deal with breeding at all, and assumes you are acquiring your animals from a stork somewhere. The diversity of these tactics, and the unstable market prices make it almost impossible to generate an optimum strategy for these things. If you are attempting these advanced strategies you should already have a basic understanding of these concepts. There are a lot of complicated markets on re-rolling your elders, and generating 3t Elders etc. Also this guide assumes that elders are "worthless" in terms of GP, and instead are always converted to beans. If you are an Ironman you can probably find value here, but this isn't why I'm writing this. This is an attempt to objectively find an optimum strategy for PoF, therefore interacting with the market. I wanted to clear up a few misconceptions.Ī couple of points before I start. I have seen a large amount of misinformation recently regarding player owned farms, on reddit, in the PoF discord and also even on the wiki.
